The 5 Best Restaurants in Rome

Thursday, June 21st, 2012

It’s one of the most enduring cultures of all time, so it’s only fitting that the restaurants of Rome are of equal greatness to its history. If you’re looking for excellent places in the city to catch a bite, here are five of the best.

Rome

5: Ditirambo

Ditirambo is a quirky little restaurant tucked away from the rest of Rome, but don’t let the winding roads and small doors fool you. What it lacks in locale in makes up in food – everything from traditional tonnarelli to more daring blends of spiced meats and unusual fondues. Best of all, most of its staff speaks English, so you won’t have to fumble around with a language barrier when ordering!

4: Ad Hoc

With tasty meals at affordable prices, Ad Hoc has become one of the go-to restaurants for visitors looking for an authentic taste of Mediterranean cuisine. Enjoy lunch, dinner and late-night plates that can accommodate any budget, and do it all with spectacular views of the streets below. Play your cards right and the chef has even been known to share his recipes with satisfied customers!

3: Ristorante Eleonora D’Arborea

Ready for the best seafood in the northern hemisphere? Ristorante Eleonora D’Arborea is world-famous for the most delicious dishes to come out of the sea. With everything from buttered shrimp to fried oysters and lobster linguine, you won’t want to miss what this place can offer. It even commands a respectful wine list to wash it all down.

2: Fortunato al Pantheon

A favorite of politicians and local starlets, Fortunato al Pantheon is a luxurious taste of the high life. The food is five-star Italian, the staff are courteous and professional, and with candles and white silk tablecloths, the atmosphere is simply unbeatable. The luxury comes at a price but even if it is slightly out of budget, I’d quite happily take out several cash loans to eat here again.  If you’re looking to pamper yourself with an unforgettable night in Rome, this is the restaurant for the job!

1: Vascello

High in the hills of Rome, Vascello lives up to the scenery by providing both a great meal and a one-of-a-kind experience for any visitor. Take your pick of tables, indoor or out, and enjoy wine and appetizers until the main course, which could be anything from lemon zest ravioli to spaghetti with sheep cheese and black pepper. The sky is the limit when it comes to Vascello – just look out its windows and see.

The guide to the hidden secrets of Rome

Friday, March 9th, 2012

If you are planning a trip to Europe, include Rome as one of your main attractions. Neighborhoods like Testaccio and Esquilino will grant a tourist the chance to get away from the noise of busy streets and tourists. The heat in these locations  fills the air with the aroma of the wonderful ingredients of Italian cuisine. The best time to visit is later, during fall or during the early months of spring.

Esquilino and Testaccio are not luxurious or classy locations but they are on the list of many famous people such as artists, intellectuals and academics. The particular attraction is food with guests having a good time savoring local Italian cooking.

When visiting Rome you are known to the locals as a doctore. You will experience the Stendhal syndrome while being here. There’s a mix of cheap electric lights coming from a nearby Caravaggio church, bathed in light  from the hot Roman sun. The imperial aqueduct is one site to be experienced. Sculpted statues of ancient Romans  are appealing and make you want to squeeze their buttocks.

Rome can prove to be overwhelming in beauty. When going back to your home town you might feel deflated , because you’ve left this type of magnificence behind. In Rome everything is set up to impress. The ancient city has  history that cannot fail to impress. The Coliseum comes to life under the narrative of the local guide.

Esquilino is an immigrant enclave while Testaccio is a working-class wonder environment that will help you appreciate Rome’s architecture and cuisine. It offers a rustic experience quite unlike a visit to a modern faceless and impersonal city.

Should you choose to include England as part of your trip to Europe then you might want to experience the flavor of the English countryside by visiting typical bed and breakfast establishments like www.lateroomsloughborough.co.uk set in the heart of the country.

Things to Do In Rome

Thursday, December 8th, 2011

Rome is a beautiful place to spend your vacation whether for the whole family or just you and your other half. It is a place that is rich in culture and with many warm and friendly natives awaiting you, you will definitely have a splendid time if you choose to make it your next vacation spot.  To help you make the decision of whether to go to Rome on vacation or not here are some things you can do while there;

  1. Visit the Vatican City. You could say that this city is almost like another state by itself. It is one of the most visited places in Rome and is home to the Papacy. Here you will find a lot to see where the Catholic Church and its history are concerned as well as countless beautiful pieces of Catholic Art.
  2. Visit the Pantheon; a historical Roman site where time seems to have stopped.
  3. Take a walk along the Forum. This also has a deep historical background and its setting has remained pretty much undisturbed giving you that ancient Rome feeling as you walk through.
  4. Visit the Colosseum. This is where gladiators had their fighting matches which you will find in a pretty untouched state.
  5. Ensure you eat a Roman meal.  Get your fair share of authentic Roman cuisine even if just for one meal out of your entire trip. You can take along a flex belt just in case you find you love the food too much. Here is a flex belt coupon that could come in handy prior to your trip.
  6. Do some shopping. Many times when we go on vacation we only purchase little nick knacks to take back home as souvenirs. When you are in Rome break this tradition and purchase some fresh fruits and vegetables that are native to Rome. Purchase clothing items and other things that will help you live the Roman lifestyle. You will find this to be a very scintillating activity.
  7. Rent a moped for moving around the city. This is a great way for you to check out Rome at your own pace and leisure and a great way to take part in core Roman activities.

Question for those who say 'Jesus never existed, "which is a myth'…?

Where is the 100 Christians Rome recently (about 64 AD), who were tortured and killed by Nero? Incidentally, a non-Christian Roman historian Tacitus called a source for this … Jeffries: Can you be swindled out torn apart by wild dogs or wolves … burned at the stake … crucified? The "weak-minded people had" something that obviously are: .. the conviction of their beliefs along the way reallt not answer the question as a "myth" with someone? upallnite: If Jesus was a name common. "Christ" was not. Tacitus tells us that Christians executed …. Nero Jesuit. The last sentence above should say no "Jesuit." ;)

"" Question for those who say 'Jesus never existed, "which is a myth'…? Where is the 100 Christians in Rome recently (about 64 AD), who were tortured and killed Nero? "" First, many people have died for their faith, even if you think his faith was foolishness. The sincerity and willingness to die for what you believe does not mean that what one believes is true. Second, there are many people who have lived in Last year 3000 +, which undoubtedly exists, but whose faith is centered in the myth, unless of course you believe that Zeus and Jupiter, Hercules and Dionysus, among many others mythological gods, and those who followed him, were real?

I can get that store Alexander Rome Total War in the United States?

specifically tell me the name of the store give you bad as many points You can.

Unless you can find it in a bag supplied in Rome at Best Buy, Circuit City, Game Stop, so I do not think you can. Your best bet is to look on Amazon Overstock, Direct2Drive.com, and some other online vendors for a copy. I do not remember his claim to be any where near the success that I thought be. In fact, the only places I've found is available in the line up suppliers. The best deal I've found is (Note that a year ago) of Overstock.com and it was a package containing Rome, Rome: Barbarian Invasion and Rome: Alexander. Hope that helps.

Rome Snowboarding

rome snowboarding
Snowboarding brands?

Isn’t Rome a better brand than K2, Burton, and lamar

Your question concerns a wide range of snowboard products. Rome was actually started by one of Burton’s product managers that wanted to strike off on his own. Rome is a high quality “core” company that caters just to snowboarders and not “people who snowboard” (yes, there is a huge difference). Burton offers high quality stuff to everyone from the core riders to the casual rider. K2 is a ski company that crossed over years and years ago. Of all the ski board companies I’d say that K2 is the coolest and offers a good board. I personally just have issues supporting a company that really doesn’t care about snowboarding and just cares about $$$. Lamar is a big box store brand, sold in Big 5 and Sports Authority and are complete crap. I’d avoid Lamar all together.
