1) Rome was the center of Europe – on trade took place in East Asia to Western Europe, so that its central location, situated in the main water agencies has been beneficial to trade 2) the gods are similar (same idea, different name), architecture, government, etc.

History question?

I’m planning on writing a story that takes place during the medeval times(ou know a time where there were knights, etc…) But I need to find out where I could find info on this paticular time period. I’m also looking for history on anchient Rome(excuse my spelling) does anyone know where I could find websites on both of these time periods?
