hotels near the Vatican and do not miss views in two days on vacation?

Planning to be in Rome in October for two days. Looking a hotel a few steps from Vatican reasonable. They are also some of the most important monuments and tourist can not miss then to Rome for a short time? Thanks and I am traveling the Colosseum and the Trevi Fountain, where the best place to stay? Someone mentioned Plazza di Spagna. Around hotels are reasonable? Thank you very much everybody! Very useful responses so far!

Coronado Hotel is located just one block from the Vatican. If you do not mind the small room Olympic Hotel is approximately 4 blocks houses and have a breakfast buffet. Be sure to visit the Colosseum and the Forum, which are next to each other and when I had a two for one ticket. If you like museums, but I do not want to go through a long control pay the Palatine Museum, which is also next to the Forum. San Pedro is a walk through and it's free, all the churches.
